§ 5-1. Pawnbrokers.

  • (a)

    Reports and records required. All pawnbrokers, junk dealers, or other secondhand dealers doing business in the city shall furnish each week, or upon demand, to the police department, a full and complete list of all articles taken in pawn by them, or bought by them, giving a full description of each article, including the maker, marks, numbers, brand, monogram and letters of every kind on such article so pawned or bought, and shall keep a daily record showing from whom all such articles are received and to whom sold.

    (b)

    Arrangement of stock. Every pawnbroker, junk dealer or other secondhand dealer in the city shall have his goods arranged in stock so as to enable any policeman to readily inspect the same.
