§ 3-23. Reclaiming impounded animals.

  • The owner can resume possession of any impounded animal upon payment of an impoundment fee to be determined by the city council for each day or fractional part of a day that the animal was impounded and any veterinary bills incurred. Such impoundment fee shall be charged for the care and feeding of the animal. However, if any animal has not been currently vaccinated in accordance with this chapter or if any dog has no valid registration license tag, the owner must first secure either or both of them at his expense before the animal may be released to his custody.
