§ 1-7. Absences on boards, commissions and committees to be limited.

Any person appointed by the city council as a member of any city board, commission, or committee shall forfeit his or her office if he or she is absent for more than three consecutive meetings or 25 percent of the regularly scheduled meetings in any one appointment year, whether excused or unexcused. In such case the city council shall declare the position vacant and may appoint a new member to fill the vacancy. Any person who has forfeited his or her office may petition the city council asking for a reappointment. The city council shall consider all of the facts of the case in determining whether to reappoint that person or not.
