§ 11-46. Parking zones.

  • (a)

    Designation of parking zones generally. The parking zones of the City of Terrell, Texas shall consist of such streets or portions thereof as are designated from time to time by the city council or the city manager acting under the direction and authority of the city council.

    (b)

    Two-hour parking zones designated. It shall be unlawful for any person to permit a vehicle to remain in any parking space adjacent to the public right-of-way within any one of the following city blocks, for a period of time exceeding two hours:

    (1)

    100, 200, and 300 blocks, West Moore Avenue;

    (2)

    100 and 200 blocks, East Moore Avenue;

    (3)

    100 block, North Francis Street;

    (4)

    100 block, South Francis Street from Moore Avenue to north right-of-way line of Texas Pacific Railroad;

    (5)

    100 block, North Catherine Street;

    (6)

    100 block, South Catherine Street from Moore Avenue to north right-of-way line of Texas Pacific Railroad;

    (7)

    100 block, North Adelaide Street;

    (8)

    100 block, South Adelaide Street from Moore Avenue to north right-of-way line of Texas Pacific Railroad;

    (9)

    100 block, North Virginia Street;

    (10)

    100 block, South Virginia Street from Moore Avenue to north right-of-way line of Texas Pacific Railroad; and

    (11)

    100 and 200 blocks, East Nash Street.

    (c)

    City manager to designate additional parking and loading zones. Upon the determination of the city manager that such action would decrease congestion, increase traffic flow and protect lives, the city manager may, acting under the authority and direction of the city council, designate and cause to be conspicuously marked additional parking and loading zones as necessary within the city limits. Upon such determination and designation, the city manager shall cause the additional parking and loading zones to be recorded in the traffic register of the municipal report.
