§ 11-4. Enforcement of traffic regulations.
It shall be the duty of the police department to enforce the provisions of this chapter. Officers of the police department are hereby authorized to direct all traffic, either in person or by means of visible and/or audible signals in conformance with the provisions of this chapter, providing that in the event of a fire or other emergency or to expedite traffic or safeguard pedestrians, officers of the police department or fire department may direct traffic, as conditions may require, notwithstanding the provisions of this chapter.
In addition to the above, it shall be the duty of the director of municipal development, or his authorized code enforcement officer(s) to enforce, through the issuance of citations, section 11-42, parking restrictions; subsection (i), parking in residential areas (Ordinance No. 2302).
