§ 39. Wrecker service permit fees and rates.
(a)
Permit fee. The annual fee for a wrecker company to provide wrecker service for the city shall be $50.00 for each wrecker which is to be used. Such fee shall defray the cost of inspection and dispatching service and shall be payable at the time of application. No refund of this fee will be made under any circumstance.
(b)
Wrecker service fees. The fees for any wrecker responding to any call for wrecker service by the city shall be fixed by the city council which may be changed or amended from time to time as deemed necessary. Such fees for such services shall be as follows:
(1)
Towing vehicle by light-duty wrecker within one location within the city to another within the city limits and/or its extraterritorial jurisdiction. $50.00.
(2)
Towing vehicle by heavy-duty wrecker within one location within the city to another within the city limits and/or its extraterritorial jurisdiction (one-hour minimum) $150.00.
(3)
Service when a wrecker operator performs a service which renders a vehicle operable. The services may include, but are not limited to, removing or straightening a bumper or fender, adding fuel or other similar service: $20.00.
(4)
If air bags, dollies, extra wheels, cable or other special equipment are used, a reasonable fee may be charged provided it does not exceed a maximum of: $25.00.
(5)
Towing a vehicle from one location within the city to another location outside the city or its extraterritorial jurisdiction may be negotiated between the owner of the wrecked or disabled vehicle, provided a reasonable fee is charged.
(6)
The fee to store an impounded vehicle at the city's pound shall not exceed $15.00 per day. A day shall be computed as a minimum period of not less than 24 hours.
